Two people were injured when their vehicles collided on US 224, west of SR 18, Wednesday evening.
According to State Highway Patrol, Dennis D. Emerine, 65, of New Riegel, was driving a Ford Explorer westbound on US 224. A Nissan Altima driven by Pamela K. Sager, 50, of Ottawa, was eastbound on US 224 and did not have its lights on, according to the patrol.
The vehicles collided when Emerine attempted to turn left on CR 591, Sgt. Angel Burgos of State Highway Patrol said.
"Both witnesses said it was dark," he said.
The Ford Explorer spun and came to rest off US 224, and the Nissan Altima went off the road, facing south.
Emerine and Sager were taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Burgos said Sager was cited with not having headlights on.
He said he believed both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The accident was reported at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday.
