A drug-related search warrant Monday morning led to the arrest of a Tiffin man.
According to a release from the Seneca County Drug Task Force METRICH Enforcement Unit, Marlos V. Fayson, 35, was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of having weapons while under disability after law enforcement searched his residence at 184 Second Ave. and found two firearms.
Police also found money, criminal tools and suspected marijuana and cocaine during the search, according to the release.
Fayson may face additional charges of possession of marijuana and trafficking in cocaine pending completion of lab analysis on the suspected drugs found in the residence.
According to the release, Fayson is being held at the Seneca County Jail. A Tiffin Municipal Court spokeswoman said Fayson appeared in court via video Monday and had his bond set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, she said.
"These types of investigations improve the quality of life in our community when we have the success of removing not only drugs from our streets but to also keep firearms out of the hands of felons," said Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens in the release.
Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agencies or to the METRICH Crime Hotline at (877) 446-DRUG or (419) 443-0463.
