FOSTORIA - Eight Riley Elementary students were honored at the Board of Education meeting Monday.
Students who received certificates of excellence and Little Caesars vouchers for achievements in reading included Makenna Clouse, Carl Gott, Brooklyn Holman, Akira Jarrett, Gabriel Keiffer, Alycia Middlebrooks, Austin Wilson and Jade Wissel.
The first reading of five new policies and revisions was presented. The complete list of these revisions and additions is available at the Administration Office, located in the junior/senior high school south entrance. Any concerns or questions may be voiced at the next Board of Education meeting Dec. 16, at which point they are to be voted into effect.
The board also approved resolutions enabling the sale of the former Field Elementary building and The Holmes Administration building. Both buildings will be sold via public auction on a date to be determined.
In other matters, board:
Approved the 6th-grade field trip March 12-14 to Camp Wilson in Bellefontaine.
Approved the 2014 after-prom field trip May 10-11 to Kalahari Waterpark in Sandusky.
Agreed to have the treasurer accept a $112,825 bid from Westfield Electric of Gibsonburg to upgrade the high school auditorium dimming system.
