James Richard Fox, 56, of Fremont and formerly Tiffin, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Jim was born May 7, 1957, in Fremont, to Richard G. Fox and Monica L. (Walby) Fox.
He is survived by a sister, Joan Capps of Boise, Idaho, and a brother, David A. Fox of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, Charles E. Fox.
Jim was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and studied social work and liberal arts courses at Bowling Green State University. He worked at Heinz of Fremont as a seasonal wastewater treatment operator, Merit Industries of Toledo as an assembler and janitor, Goodwill Industries as a painter, assembler and janitor and at ECI, Tiffin, as a holiday basket maker.
Jim loved volunteering for the Easter Seal Society and March of Dimes. He attended Grace Community Church when in Fremont and The Salvation Army church when in Tiffin.
There will be a memorial service for Jim at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-1221, with Chaplain Jamie Stewart officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky, and Wyandot Counties" (or for short MHRSB/SSW) with "Tiffin Group Homes" listed on the memo line of the check. This funding will go for mental health services to include counseling, therapy and medication.
