UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS - Heidelberg swept John Carroll 25-21, 25-18, 25-18 Tuesday to clinch a share of the regular-season Ohio Athletic Conference title and remain unbeaten in conference play.
Amber Welfle led the charge with 12 kills and 11 digs for the Students Princes (16-13, 8-0 OAC).
Jamie Kluding added nine kills and two aces for Heidelberg, Sarah Botts and Sarah Parker each belted eight kills, Alexa Frank tossed up 24 assists, Stephanie Romie tallied 16 assists and Grace Samenuk registered 10 digs and three aces.
The Blue Streaks fell to 18-10, 4-4 in the OAC.
Dragons fall in exhibition game
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Tiffin's men fell 76-52 Tuesday to Division I foe Oakland University in exhibition basketball.
It was a close game early before Oakland used a 7-0 run to go up 12-6 and never trail again. An 11-0 run later in the half pushed the lead to 29-12 en route to a 42-26 halftime advantage.
Ashton Khan's 11 points paced the Dragons in the loss, with Kelvin Toma adding nine points and five assists. Mike Boan and Jonathan Sutherlin each blocked a pair of shots.
