For nine consecutive years, fourth-grade students from area schools have painted pumpkins for the annual contest that takes place at Riehm Farm Market during the month of October. This year, pumpkins are to be displayed in the Wolf Creek Cafe, located within Mercy Tiffin Hospital. The Riehm family intends on hosting the contest again next year at Riehm Farm Market.
Judges will select two pieces of artwork from each school and area residents are invited to vote for their favorite pumpkin artwork or artwork through Tuesday. The cost is 25 cents per vote, with no limit on the number of votes cast. All proceeds are to benefit pediatric patients at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
The winning artist is to receive a plaque and that student's fourth-grade class will earn possession of a traveling trophy. Individual plaques are to be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners.
The fourth-grade class that collects the highest percentage of votes will be rewarded with a pizza party.
