Doris Faye (Bollinger) Spitler

Doris Faye (Bollinger) Spitler, 93, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, in her home in Perrysburg.

She was born May 25, 1920, to Elmer and Ora (McNatt) Bollinger in Reed Township, Seneca County. She married Ralph S. Spitler July 20, 1940.

They owned Ralph's Cleaners in Attica. Doris was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge, where she held the office of Noble Grand. She and Ralph lived in Zephyrhills, Fla., for more than 20 years. First and foremost, Doris was a devoted wife and wonderful mother of six children, which included two sets of twins.

She is survived by children Patricia A. (Stanley II) Irons of Oregon, Ohio, Ronald J. (Gloria) Spitler of Lake Orion, Mich., Darl W. Spitler of Toledo, John A. (Sally) Spitler of Perrysburg and Jane E. (Frank) Vazquez of New Albany; a daughter-in-law, Carla J. Spitler of Whitehouse; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are sisters Iola Williams of Republic and Cleona (Leonard) Stockmaster of Attica.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 2003; a son, Carl R. Spitler, in 2011; two brothers, Harold and Wayland Bollinger; and a sister, Ruth Weinandy.

Private family services will be conducted at a later date. Burial will be in Attica-Venice Township Cemetery, Attica.

The staffs of Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg, and Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, Attica, are assisting the family with the arrangements.
