A man was killed in an accident in Hancock County's Washington Township early Monday morning.
According to a release from Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Craig M. Scalf, 55, of Tiffin, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at CR 330 and CR 216.
It states Scalf was driving a 2013 Ford Escape westbound on CR 216 when he failed to stop at a stop sign. He struck a trailer full of corn that was being pulled by a 2000 Kenworth W900 tractor northbound on CR 330.
The driver of the tractor, James A. Cole, 45, of Mount Blanchard, was not injured, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said.
Washington Township Fire Department and Hanco EMS assisted at the scene of the crash, which was reported at 5:31 a.m. Monday. It was under investigation Monday.
