A reserve deputy for Seneca County Sheriff's Office was arrested in Tiffin early Sunday morning.
According to Tiffin Police Department, Guy G. Hartsel, 57, of Tiffin, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor, during a traffic stop at East Market and South Washington streets.
Officer Jake DeMonte said officers were sent to Stiney's Three Oaks Tavern, 255 Second Ave., for a disturbance. While there, officers advised Hartsel not to drive his vehicle due to his impairment. DeMonte said about five minutes later, he observed Hartsel driving his vehicle.
He said during the traffic stop, Hartsel put his vehicle in reverse, striking his police cruiser. There was no damage to the car.
DeMonte said Hartsel, who was released on a summons, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.134.
Two messages were left for Seneca County Sheriff Bill Eckelberry Sunday night.
