Pasquale "Pat" A. Patuto, 73, of Tiffin, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
He is survived by his wife, M. Angela Grillot Patuto; five children, J. Nicola (Charmaine) Patuto of Dover, Joel (Darlene) Patuto of Burgoon, Sharon (Brian) Kelly of Orion Township, Mich., Kathryn Patuto of Westerville and Samantha Patuto of Columbus; two granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Kelly, both of Orion Township, Mich.; and two sisters, Josephine Patuto and Carmela (Steve) Hartenstein.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Nicola and Maria Rosalea Patuto; an infant sister, Carmela; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Grillot.
Pat was an employee at The A & P Tea Company, beginning in the 1950s, as a bagger or shelf stocker. Eventually, he became a journeyman meat cutter until the store closed. He then worked at Food Town Stores and Al's Shoprite, Clyde.
As a graduate of Heidelberg College, he was additionally a teacher from 1963 until 1982. He first taught at Tiffin St. Joseph School, followed by the Bellevue School System until he became co-owner of Al's Shoprite until 1989. He purchased A&A meat cutting being self-employed until a purchase agreement was made with another meat cutting business. In 1997, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease with his final two years being in nursing home care.
Another good man has left this earth.
