Robert A. Gray, 92, of Clyde, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Huron County, to Harry and Stella (Miller) Gray.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. His military unit was part of the initial invasion of Northern Africa and Sicily.
He married Edith E. Mowry June 27, 1953, and she survives in Clyde. Also surviving are a son, Robert B. (Carolyn) Gray of Vickery; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Gray.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.
His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Ray Kovach officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde. Military graveside services will be provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
