Others: Senior Colton Feathers; Juniors Sven Menzel; Jenson Nutter. Freshmen Justin Coleman; Charlie Dell; David Irving; Ben Kleinfelter; Drew Kurtz; Mateo Muniz; Nikos Portentoso; Austin Rainey; Cody Ramirez; Andrew Scaife; Drew Swanagan.

Outlook: The Chieftains return six of the seven runners from their regional qualifying team last year, including Swartzmiller, who placed third at the district meet and was named the team's most valuable runner.

Also back are a second-team MAL runner in Gase and honorable mention MAL runners Ardner and Depinet.

Coleman, though, expects a lot of competition for the back end of the varsity lineup.

"I expect a lot of jockeying for position especially around the sixth through 10th spots," Coleman said. "There definitely are numbers with 25 team members and 11 of them being freshmen. There is a strong group of leaders."

Coleman said her team is running well right now as a group, but needs to better their times for the bigger meets.

"I think there will be a pretty tight pack, but they will need to move up to place well in invites."
