Two Fremont residents were killed in a four-vehicle crash in Ottawa County Monday afternoon.
State Highway Patrol identified them as Jerald Zimmer, 78, and Rosanne Zimmer, 74.
According to a release, Jerald Zimmer was driving a 2009 Honda Accord eastbound on SR 2. A 1999 Dodge Caravan was being driven westbound by Rosalinda Guerra, 34, of Toledo.
Jerald Zimmer failed to yield while turning left into the entrance of Camp Perry and was struck by Guerra's vehicle, according to the release. Guerra's vehicle then struck a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, and the Sonic then struck a 1994 Lexus.
The Sonic and Lexus had been stopped at the stop sign at Camp Perry, waiting to enter SR 2, according to the release.
Jerald Zimmer was taken by Life Flight from the scene to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and was pronounced dead at the emergency room. Rosanne Zimmer, his passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Guerra was taken by Life Flight from the scene to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was in fair condition Monday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Guerra's passengers, all from Toledo, were Alexandra Davis, 32; Dominique Sullivan, 15; Diamond Sullivan, 7; Darreron Porter, 13; and Donnell Porter, 10. They were taken to Magruder Hospital's emergency room, and all but Davis were treated and released, according to the release.
The driver of the Sonic was identified as Margaret Cumberland, 56, of Hilliard. She was taken to Magruder's emergency room, while her passenger, Harold Cumberland, 54, of Hilliard, sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Lexus was Anna M. Murphy, 59, of Kenton. She had two passengers, Garron Fischmann, 49, and Ashlynn Fischmann, 10, both of Kenton. No one in the vehicle was injured.
The crash was under investigation Monday night. No citations had been issued, and alcohol or drugs did not appear to be involved, according to the release.
