FOSTORIA - A man was charged with robbery early Wednesday morning after a caller from Kroger reported a man swung at an employee.
According to Fostoria Police reports, a caller from Kroger reported at 12:40 a.m. a man fled from the store after swinging at an employee. The man fled through the old Kroger parking lot, the report states.
The man was later identified as James E. Simonis, 22, of Blacklick, and a vehicle also was impounded, according to the report. Simonis was charged with robbery, a second-degree felony.
His bond has been set at $200,000 cash or surety in Fostoria Municipal Court. He is scheduled to appear today for an arraignment, according to court documents.
A call placed to Capt. Patrick Brooks of the Fostoria Police was not returned Wednesday evening.
