FINDLAY - Residents and landowners of Hancock County can participate in the Hancock Park District's annual Hunting with Permission Lottery program, in cooperation with Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife.
A mandatory informational meeting and the lottery are to take place at 7 p.m. Thursday inside the Activity Barn at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, 6100 US 224, Findlay. The meeting covers rules and regulations for hunting.
After the meeting, hunters can enter any of six categories they are eligible for - 10 deer-gun permits, 10 deer muzzleloader permits, 25 small-game permits, 25 deer archery permits, four trapping permits at Litzenberg Memorial Woods and five Litzenberg youth hunt permits.
Interested youth must be 11-17 years old at the time of the drawing.
Permits are to be issued following each drawing.
After the draw, youth selected for youth hunt permits, and their adult companions, must attend an informal meeting. The hunt is take place Nov. 23-24.
Litzenberg daily permits will continue to be available for those not drawn during the lottery.
