The Tiffin City Schools Board of Education approved principal and teacher evaluation plans for the 2013-14 as laid out by Ohio Principal and Teacher Evaluation Systems.
The positions that are to evaluate principals are the Superintendent Don Coletta; Director of Instruction and Personnel Scott Urban; High School Principal Mark Verroco; and Middle School Principal Robert Boes.
Middle school and Krout 2-3 principals are to conduct teacher evaluations. This program is a one-year pilot program.
The board heard an update for the stadium project from Director of Operations Scott Daniel.
The stadium is getting its first coat of paint and stairs and bleachers are getting a first coat of primer, Daniel said. Track repairs and installation of handrails are to begin in the next couple weeks, he said. The project is to be completed by Aug. 16 in time for the first home game Aug. 23, Daniel said.
Urban introduced new staff member April Sommers, who is to serve as an intervention specialist for Washington and Noble Elementary schools.
The board agreed to purchase a food truck from Tiffin Ford Lincoln at the cost of $51,032 to be paid out of food service funds.
In other business the board:
Heard committee reports.
Approved the consent agenda.
Approved a service agreement with Polygot Consulting at a cost not to exceed $32,245.50 to direct the International Culture Center.
Approved bus route assignments for the 2013-14 school year.
Approved employment of nonlicensed individuals with pupil-activity contracts with Paul Dunn for football assistant varsity coach and Josh Edler for seventh- and eighth-grade football.
Approved supplemental appropriations for fiscal year 2014.
The board also adopted an amended resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorized the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor for 2013, as recommended by the district Treasurer Sharon Perry.
The next regular meeting is 7 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Tiffin Middle School cafetorium.
