KANSAS A man was taken to The Toledo Hospital after a single-vehicle rollover crash in Jackson Township Thursday morning.
Sgt. Don Pratt of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Cory D. McDonald, 27, of Fostoria, was eastbound on TR 33. Another car, which was southbound on TR 63, was pulling forward to see down the intersection and around corn.
Pratt said McDonald panicked, thinking the vehicle was not going to stop at the stop sign. He slammed on the brakes, swerved to the right, over-corrected, went off the left side of the road and overturned, Pratt said.
He said it looked like the vehicle rolled twice. It came to rest in the field.
"He was ejected," Pratt said.
Pratt said McDonald was taken to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital and then by ground transport to The Toledo Hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman said he was in fair condition Thursday evening.
McDonald's injuries were not life-threatening, Pratt said.
Pratt said McDonald was cited with failure to control, driving under suspension, no seatbelt and possession of marijuana. He said he did not think McDonald was under the influence of marijuana or alcohol.
Kansas fire and Fostoria EMS responded to the accident, according to Seneca County Sheriff's Office.
