Cleora J. Kocher, 87, of Findlay, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
Cleora was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Bascom, to George and Isabel (Peiffer) Thom. She married Howard Pruett and they were divorced. She later married Donald Robert Kocher on Nov. 22, 1969, and he preceded her in death May 10, 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Lazarow of Columbus; a granddaughter, Katherine Nicole Lazarow of Columbus; a stepson, Kim O. (Robin) Kocher of Fremont; and a stepdaughter, Melanie Ann Kocher of Findlay.
She was the last of six siblings and was preceded by two brothers, Clarence and Alvin Thom, and three sisters, Nina Puffenberger, Inez Shuff and Catherine Thom.
Cleora was employed for more than 30 years at Ohio Bell Telephone Co., later AT&T, as a telephone operator and later as the Findlay office business manager. She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America, where she served as president and treasurer. Cleora was a very active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where she was involved in many ministries.
A Mass of Christianburial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, with Fr. Jim Brown, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Ave., Findlay, with a scripture service to begin at 7:30. The ladies of the Altar Rosary Society will begin praying the rosary one half hour prior to the Mass at the church.
