Evelyn M. (Dantuono) Raitz

Evelyn M. (Dantuono) Raitz, 89, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning July 10, 2013, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.

She was born May 24, 1924, in Liberty Township, to John Raymond and Emma (Kimmet) Puffenberger. She married Anthony Dantuono Jan. 20, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Millersville, and he passed away June 29, 1990. She then married Paul Raitz Sr. July 20, 1996, and he passed away Jan. 19, 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Sandra) Dantuono and Douglas (Marilyn) Dantuono, both of Findlay, and Anthony (Lynn) Dantuono of Lewis Center; three daughters, Jacqueline (Mike) Strathman of Spring, Texas, Connie Dantuono of Dublin and Michelle Dantuono of Tiffin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lou and Ruth Dantuono of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight stepchildren; 23 stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; and close friends Richard Clouse and Barb Dantuono, both of Tiffin.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, John and Robert Puffenberger; and four sisters, Marian Boyer, Joanne Holzworth, Evone Mooney and Annabel Lind.

Evelyn graduated from Bettsville High School in 1942 and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, where she was a eucharistic minister. She was a praying member of The Legion of Mary and was an avid card player.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Kishore Kottani officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin. The rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian wake service will begin at 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Anna M. Dantuono Scholarship Fund at Calvert Catholic High School.
