SYCAMORE - Firefighters responded to a fire at Bowlmor, 113 S. Sycamore Ave., Wednesday night.
Chief Bryan Clouse of Sycamore's fire department said the fire at the bowling alley was reported about 9:30 p.m. No one was inside the bowling alley, but a resident living above it was home.
He said the resident was watching television, smelled smoke, got up, looked around and saw the fire and called 911 after going downstairs.
When firefighters arrived, fire was above the entrance door. The fire was in the bowling alley and the upstairs had smoke.
Clouse said the fire was out within 45 minutes, and firefighters remained on scene for at least another hour. The cause was looking to be electrical, he said.
The building did not sustain structural damage, he said.
He estimated damage between $5,000 and $10,000 and said he believed the bowling alley was closed at least for Thursday. The resident was displaced because of the work being done, and American Red Cross was assisting.
No one was injured, Clouse said.
Sycamore fire and EMS and McCutchenville, Upper Sandusky and Wyandot East fire responded. Wyandot County Emergency Management Agency provided a trailer.
