Willie L. Sturgill, age 75 years and seven months, of Bloomville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his home, after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Whitesburg, Ky., to Arthur and Maxline (Sandlin) Sturgill. He married Claudine Brown July 1, 1958, in Whitesburg, Ky., and she survives in Bloomville.
Other survivors include three sons, Lewis (Theresa) Sturgill of St. Johnsbury, Vt., William (Pat) Sturgill of Swanton and Daniel (Betsy) Sturgill of Littleton, N.H.; three daughters, Wilma Davidson of Tolna, N.D., Anna (Joe) Burks of Bloomville and Donna Jean (George) Nealey of Norfolk, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald (Cora) Sturgill and Joe (Sherry) Sturgill, both of Whitesburg, Ky., and Daniel (Doris) Sturgill of Melmore; four sisters, Donna Combs of Eckerty, Ind., Mary Jane (Edward) Clark of Erin, Tenn., Armilda (James) Hall of Melmore and Kathryn Hall of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Orville, Kenny and Steve; and two sisters, Margaret Sloan and Barbara Bowman.
He worked at Webster Manufacturing, Tiffin, as a molder, retiring in 2000. He was a Pentecostal minister, a U.S. Navy veteran and the love of his wife's life.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Clarence Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery, CR 16, Tiffin. The United Veterans Council of Tiffin will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
