Betty Jane Homan, 92, formerly of Virginia Avenue, passed away Saturday morning, June 29, 2013, at St. Francis Home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Tiffin, to Frank and Grace (McCormick) Crist. She married Merle R. Homan March 1, 1945, in St. Joseph parsonage and he died Oct. 21, 2004.
Survivors include her daughter, Malinda (Frank) Perna of Tiffin; daughter-in- law, Judy Homan of Tiffin; two grandsons, Anthony Perna and Christopher (Kelly) Homan; three great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Tenley and Hunter Michael James Homan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and most recently her son Mike Feb 15, 2013. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Ed, Bud and Bob Crist; and a sister, Mary Lou Zay.
Betty was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1938 graduate of Tiffin Calvert. She was an operator at Ohio Bell, clerk at LaSalle's Department Store for many years and a member of the Tiffin Elks. She enjoyed reading, bowling and golfing.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Francis Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Tuesday at St. Francis Home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home or Stein Hospice.
