Elizabeth "Lee" Abbott Odgers Salsman, 97, of RiverMead Lifecare Community, Peterborough, N.H., passed peacefully Nov. 16, 2012.
Lee was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Tiffin, the daughter of Urn Shelby Abbott, a former owner of The Advertiser-Tribune, and Victoria Buchman. In 1937, she married Arthur John Odgers (1912-1965) of Bellevue. After his passing in 1965, she married Victor Harold Salsman (1900-1996) of Smoke Rise, N.J.
Lee attended Tiffin City schools and graduated from Colombian High School in 1933, Heidelberg College and Ohio Wesleyan University in 1937 with an AB degree in fine arts. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, the American Association of University Women and an accomplished artist.
Surviving are her three children, Richard Henry (Carole) Odgers of Cudjoe Key, Fla., John Abbott (Maude) Odgers of Peterborough, N.H., and Elizabeth Jane (Robert Nields) Odgers of Lyndeborough, N.H.; four grandchildren Erin, Elizabeth, Whitney and Brady; two great-grandchildren, Reganne and Alexandra; and a sister-in-law, Doris Pocock Abbott of Tiffin.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Henry L. Abbott.
There will be a graveside remembrance service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the family grave sight at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
