Martha Louise Phillips, 90, of Sycamore, died at 2:55 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at Blanchard Valley Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Sycamore, to James Paul and Lois (Pennington) Curlis. She married James Edward Phillips Nov. 21, 1943 and he preceded her in death July 9, 2002.
Louise is survived by her four children, a son, Roderick (Jo) Phillips of rural Tiffin, and three daughters, Rebecca (Ed) Dolinar of Amherst, Kathie (Jay) Stein of Stony Point, N.Y., and Ann (Andy) Phillips of Sebago, Maine; six grandchildren, Steve (Courtney) Dolinar, Kate Dolinar, Carly Phillips, Maggie (Ryan) Kurth, Jeff (Lizzy) Stein and Elizabeth Stein; four geat-grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Dolinar, Delaney Kurth and Jodah Stein; and her brother, Robert Curlis of Sycamore.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Michael; and her brother, James Craig Curlis.
Louise was a 1940 graduate of Sycamore High School and also graduated from Tiffin University. Through the years, she was employed by National Machinery Company, Tiffin, Swan Rubber Company, Bucyrus, and Webster Manufacturing, Tiffin.
She was a member of Sycamore United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild of the church, the former Sycamore Music Club, Women's Literary Club of Sycamore, Chapter BP of the PEO Sisterhood of Marion, and the Mohawk Historical Society. Louise loved reading, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral for Louise will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Robin Labolt officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
