Ruby I. Mick

Ruby I. Mick, 91, of Tiffin and formerly Attica, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son in-law, Patricia and Joseph Silardi of Tiffin.

She was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Seneca County, to Clarence E. and Nellie A. (Robinson) Smith. She married Paul Mick July 18, 1942, in Toronto, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Veronica (Richard) Neuwirth of Defiance, Mrs. Judith (Daryl) Hemminger of Avon and Mrs. Patricia (Joseph) Silardi of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Jason Hemminger, Charles (Melissa) Neuwirth, Nicholas (Jill) Miller, Chandra Robinson, Cory (Jolena) Miller and Colleen (Andrew) Newman; three stepgrandchildren, Jamie (Nick Famulare) Silardi, Jodi (Bryan) Skelton and Nick (Sara) Silardi; seven great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Smith; a sister, Elizabeth Reichard; and a grandson, Kirk Hemminger.

Ruby worked for many years in the balloon division of Pioneer Rubber Co., Willard, and Attica, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Attica.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with a scriptural vigil service beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tiffin or to Seneca East Public Library.
