Jack E. Kies

Jack E. Kies, 71, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Born in Fort Wayne, Jack graduated from Scipio Republic High School in 1959 and worked as a manufacturing engineer with General Electric for 42 years, retiring in 2000. He was a past president of GE Apprentice Alumni and an avid I.U. basketball fan.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Sue E. Kies of Fort Wayne; son, Michael (Lori) Kies of Cincinnati; daughter, Michelle (Craig) Ward of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Brett Kies, Shelby Kies and Dylan and Dean Ward; a brother, Ronald Kies of Tiffin; and two sisters, Diana Magers of Gunnison, Colo., and Carol Ogilvie of Orange, Calif.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Gertrude M. Kies.

A private family memorial service is scheduled for a later date. Burial will be at Perry Township Cemetery, Huntertown.
