SYCAMORE - At Tuesday evening's meeting, Sycamore Village Council remembered former councilman Kenneth May who died June 3 in Piqua. May had been recognized in 2008 by former Mayor Michael Tschanen for 36 years of service to the village.
Sycamore village council approved a resolution to place a five-year, 2-mil renewal fire levy on the November ballot. The levy expires at the end of 2013 and generates about $24,000 annually.
Village administrator Chuck Clark reported a pool pump motor was replaced after a two-hour power outage last week made the pump inoperable.
Clark said eight contractors attended the pre-bid meeting for the new water treatment facility May 10. The bid openings will probably occur the third week of June, though a firm date has not been set due to changes in the engineering plans covering water tower removal.
Sycamore Community Center fireworks are set for 10 p.m. June 29, with the rain date June 30.
Council is to meet at 7:30 p.m. June 25 at village hall.
