Conference to focus on ‘empowerment’

FOSTORIA - The Women Empowered Expo is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Fostoria High School, 1001 Park Ave., Fostoria. The doors open at 9 a.m. for this event that includes a grand prize raffle, door prizes, entertainment food and retail vendors, exhibits and speakers.

The conference host, Tonee Morant, is the founder of Tonee Morant Ministries. She and her husband, Derrick, have founded three churches in Ohio. Danita Harris-Pratt is the keynote speaker. She is the evening news anchor for WEWS in Cleveland and host of the weekly television show, "Academic Challenge."

Three more speakers have been slated for the conference. Lori Loomis, founder and administrator of Relevant Faith Training Center, also makes two mission trips per year to Kenya. Keymasha Knight is co-pastor of House of Healing Outreach International Ministries in Elyria and an author, counselor and mentor. Tamekia "Mizladi" Smith, of Columbus, is a poet, singer, actress and singer.
