Ann M. Hiser, 91, of Fostoria, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Independence House, Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Liberty Township, Seneca County, to Henry and Laura M. (Hammer) Shaull. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Truman S. Wangler in 1971, Lee Dixon in 1981 and William D. Hiser in 2006.
Surviving is a son, Don D. (Carol L.) Wangler of Fostoria; a granddaughter, Tammi S. Garrett; a grandson, Shawn E. Wangler; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Cori; four stepchildren, Tim Hiser of Fostoria, Bill (Mary Lou) Hiser of North Baltimore, Bob (Jonie) Hiser of Tuscon, Ariz., and Nancy Brown of Findlay; 15 stepgrandchildren; 29 stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice "Sis" (Jim) Bodart of Fostoria; three nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Chris Wangler; two brothers, Cletus and Jack Shaull; two stepsons, Mike and Dan Hiser; a stepgrandson; and a stepgranddaughter.
Ann was a homemaker and attended St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. She worked for the former Gem Manufacturing, Bascom, during the 1930s and S.S. Kresge store, Fostoria, in the 1960s.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
