A statement released by Tiffin University indicates the Tiffin Saints will not be playing their home games at the school's Heminger Field at Paridiso Complex.
The Saints, part of the Independent Baseball League, are to begin play in 2014.
The release reads:
"Tiffin University will not be the host site for the Tiffin Saints professional baseball club. At this time, there has been no official agreement for use of the Heminger Field at the Paradiso Athletic Complex. After months of deliberation, the ad-hoc Facilities Committee decided that 'this is not in the best interest of TU.'
"The committee, which included TU alum and Saints owner, Brian Dutton, could not reach a mutually beneficial agreement at this point in time. The door, however, is not closed to TU entertaining the idea of hosting a professional baseball club on the TU campus in the future.
"Tiffin University wishes Brian Dutton and the Tiffin Saints the best of luck in their future endeavors."
In Wednesday's edition of The A-T, Dutton said he was meeting with TU Thursday and hoped to sign a deal with the school then.
