FOSTORIA - Fostoria City Council passed emergency legislation Tuesday evening to authorize the cleaning of large-diameter sewers. The project is part of a city program to increase capacity and reduce sewage overflows during rain events. The cost of the project is estimated to be approximately $313,000. Increasing capacity is one of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's strategies to reduce or eliminate sewer overflows nationally.
