J. Abigail (Kelbley) McMillan

J. Abigail (Kelbley) McMillan, 47, of Ontario and formerly Upper Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 24, 2013, in Hollywood, Fla.

She was born May 1, 1966, in Toledo. She is survived by her parents, Robert Kelbley Jr. of Fostoria and Heather (Ringle) Kelbley of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Sarah McMillan of Columbus; two sisters, Nikki Cramer of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jennifer Kelbley of Columbus; maternal grandfather, Cecil Potter of Kentucky; and her paternal grandmother, Vonetta Kelbley of Fostoria.

Abby will always be remembered as a person who gave her heart and her time to so many people and animals. She was a strong, driven individual who always tried to help others.

Abby received an A.A. in business administration in 1990 and a B.A. in business administration in 1992 from University of Findlay. In 2000, she received a master of library and information science from Kent State University, Columbus Campus. In 2005, she graduated from Upper Arlington Leadership Program.

Some of her accomplishments in life included: assistant director at City of North Miami Public Library, program manager at Miami Dade Literacy for Every Adult, mobile library service department manager at Miami Dade Public Library, adjunct faculty for marketing quantitative research methods at Johnson & Wales University, circulation manager at Upper Arlington Public Library and Ontario branch manager at Mansfield/Richland County Public Library.

For hobbies, she enjoyed researching her family genealogy, writing poetry, photography and was a patron of the arts. Children and animals were especially dear to her.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351, (419) 294-2328.

Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Per her request she was cremated. Burial will be at Attica Venice Township Joint Cemetery, Attica, at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to ASPCA or Upper Sandusky Public Library.
