Robert "Bob" C. Whiteman, 73, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Hospice House, Cape Coral, Fla., where he resided.
He was born March 12, 1940, the son of Frederick and Doris Whiteman who previously passed away.
Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Holly M. (Creeger) Whiteman; three children, Randall C. Whiteman, Julie A. (Bobby G.) Williams Sr. and John R. (Julienne N.) Whiteman; six grandchildren, Tyler Jason Williams, Claudia Lynn Whiteman, Chelsea Lauren Whiteman, Sean Taylor Whiteman, Lindsay Noel Whiteman and Bobby G. Williams Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Landon Cole Williams and Payton Riley Williams; a sister, Joyce (Thomas) Swan; five sisters-in-law, Lisa Perry, Susan Creeger, Beverly Omlor, Mary Lee Creeger and Cathryn (Creeger) Biller; two brothers-in-law, Michael Perry and Jeffrey Creeger; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Bolfa; two brothers, Richard Whiteman and William Whiteman; and two brothers-in-law, Stephan Creeger and John C. Creeger.
Robert was in the United States Navy from 1958-1962 stationed in Virginia and out in the water on the USS Saratoga and the USS Fearless; he was a radio controller.
Robert had an extraordinary life of which he was able to live in other countries and become a world traveler while working for Bechtel Corp. as a procurement manager, of which he retired from in 2005. He lived in Belgium, Kuwait, Malaysia and Dubai while working and was a world traveler of many countries with his wife by his side. He will be missed by all.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. June 22, 2013, at the residence of Mary Lee Creeger, 4198 N. TR 71, Tiffin, OH 44883.
