Kenneth E. May, of Piqua and formerly Sycamore, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, at Heartland of Piqua.
He was born Nov. 24, 1938, in McCutchenville, to Joseph and Alice (Kunkle) May. He married Marjorie R. Wertz July 26, 1959, in Upper Sandusky, and she preceded him in death March 24, 2005.
He is survived by a daughter, Teresa May of Sidney; a son, Kevin (Deanna) May of Fostoria, Mich.; three grandchildren, Allison May of Sidney and Wyatt and Emily May of Fostoria, Mich.; a brother, Don (Judy) May of Sycamore; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Doris Elcheberry; and four brothers, E. Paul, Esley Jr., Albert and Robert May.
Ken worked at Tiffin State Hospital and drove a school bus for Mohawk Local Schools. He worked at Seneca County School of Opportunity and Angeline School, teaching the developmentally disabled and was a clerk at Producers Livestock Association, Bucyrus. After retirement, Ken and Marge ran Wyandot-Seneca Tours.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin, a 1956 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, vice chairman of the Republican Party for Wyandot County and former councilman for the Village of Sycamore. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore St., Tiffin, with Pastor Ken Gillikin officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
