Robert E. ‘Pottsie’ Potts Sr.

Robert E. "Pottsie" Potts Sr., 74, of Tiffin, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident May 22, 2013.

Bob was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Fostoria, to Earl and Evelyn (Rohm) Potts. He married Barbara J. Fox March 5, 1960, and she preceded him in death July 27, 2012.

He worked for France Stone Quarry and retired from Bellevue Manufacturing after 30 years of service. He also helped farm for various family and friends. He was an avid sports fan.

Surviving Bob are his six children, Tim (Kitty) Potts of Clyde, Robert Potts Jr. of Marion, Linda Culbertson of Tiffin, Barbara Cassidy and Melody Geiger, both of Clyde, and June (Ron Linkey) Potts of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren, Teresa (Steve) Block, Joe (Vanessa) Potts, Vanessa Ralph, Wayne Culbertson, Chad Cassidy, Brandon Cassidy, Jacob Jones, Mark (Erica Zulauf) Geiger Jr., Anthony (Terese Cline) Geiger, Tucker Linkey and C.J. Linkey; 15 great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Charles (Marie) Potts, Evelyn (Jim) Andrews, Ruth (Ted) Warner, Dean Potts and Janice Parks, all of Bellevue, Dorothy Sweat of Charleston, S.C., Sue Graffice of Bellevue and Shirley Mowery of Crawfordville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; grandson, Travis Linkey; son-in-law, Mark Geiger Sr.; and six siblings, Emery Potts, Mildred Niver, Ione Tidd, Jeanette Stout, Velma Scherley and Nora Auble.

His funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-1221, with Pastor Anthony Geiger Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Green Springs Cemetery.

There will be visitation for family and friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the American Autism Association.
