Two Tiffin men were charged with felonies after a family fight resulted in one of them being stabbed Saturday night.
James A. Spears, 41, was charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and his stepson, Shaquielle L. Moore, 21, was charged with domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, according to Tiffin Police Department. Both were held without bond and remained incarcerated in Seneca County Jail Sunday.
According to a police report, a person reported 20 people were fighting in the yard at 149 Dallas St. at 10:43 p.m. Saturday.
Officer Jake DeMonte said during the fight, Spears produced a straight-edge razor from his pocket and sliced Moore in the upper rib cage area and on the right hand. Moore had non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released from Mercy Tiffin Hospital, he said.
A sergeant cut his left hand while placing handcuffs on Moore, and an officer accidentally was spit on, according to the police report.
Willie L. Grant, 67, of Tiffin, who is Moore's grandfather, was charged with disorderly conduct, according to Tiffin Police Department. DeMonte said he was acting in a violent manner at the scene. Grant posted bond for the minor misdemeanor early Sunday morning, according to Seneca County Jail.
Also, Christian Blue, 35, of Tiffin, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, according to the police department and Seneca County Jail. He was incarcerated Sunday.
Assistance at the fight was sought from Seneca County Sheriff's Office personnel.
