Phillip L. Bollinger, 17, of Republic and formerly of Bloomville, died Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2013, in an auto accident in Reed Township, Seneca County.
He was born Sept. 26, 1995, in Toledo, to Douglas Bollinger and Jillynda (Sherman) Bollinger.
Phillip is survived by his mother, Jillynda (Josh Kirian) Bollinger of Republic; his father Douglas (Lori Collins) Bollinger of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Hunter Bollinger of Republic, Robert E. Bollinger of New Smyrna Beach, and Timothy Kirian of Republic; his sister, Emily Bollinger of Republic; his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Dorothea Sherman of Bloomville; his paternal grandmother, Gladys Bollinger of Attica; grandparents David and Daisey Kirian of Republic; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bruce Bollinger.
Phillip was a senior at Seneca East High School, where he was involved in Quiz Bowl, wrestling, and golf. He also attended Sentinel Career Center and was enrolled in the collision repair class. Phillip was a member of the Republic Rowdy Rednecks 4-H club, and was very active in the Attica Jr. Fair. He was an assistant baseball coach for the Bloomville baseball youth league.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 3, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville.
His funeral is 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at the Attica-Venice Cemetery in Attica.
