Bernard J. Stockmaster

Bernard Jay Stockmaster, 65, of Attica, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Stockmaster was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Tiffin, to Lawrence and Rosa (Hahler) Stockmaster. Mr. Stockmaster was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from MTD, Shelby. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 171, Attica, and enjoyed Attica racing, NASCAR, his Mustang, cookouts with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Stockmaster is survived by his wife, Veneta A. (Martin) Stockmaster; son, Gregory L. Stockmaster of Galion; daughter, Rebecca K. Stockmaster of Willard; stepson, Christopher J. (Tracy J.) Bordner of Attica; two stepdaughters, Dawn R. Bordner of Attica and Tracy A. (Michael) Sipe of Shelby; five grandchildren, Kayla, Alec, Brooke, Garret and Lucas; a great-grandson, Carson; a brother, Richard L. Stockmaster of Attica; three sisters, Donna (Ira) Rotruck of Attica and Lois Payne and Helen (Elbert) Mullins, both of Tiffin; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers, Richard and William; an infant sister, Ellen R. Stockmaster; a brother-in-law, Daryl Payne; and sister-in-law, Paula Stockmaster.

His Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Attica with Fr. Paul A. Fahrbach conducting the Mass. Burial will follow at Attica Venice Township Cemetery with military services being provided by the American Legion.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, Attica, with a scriptural vigil service at 4 p.m.
