Helen C. Stuerzenberger, 95, of Cleveland, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
Born Oct. 23, 1917, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of William V. and Katie (Barsdaitis) Rackus. She married Vincent Stuerzenberger and he preceded her in death April 23, 1973.
Surviving are her two daughters, Catherine Stuerzenberger of Tiffin and Mary (Charles) Doran of Carey; five grandchildren, Sheila (David) Bloom, Brad (Jacqui) Schlachter, Brian Schlachter, Kevin Schlachter and Melissa (Brandon) Snyder; and four great-grandchildren, Blake Schlachter, Libby Schlachter and Jessica and Will Bloom.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Rackus.
Helen was a cook at Sisters of St. Joseph, Cleveland. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Park, Cleveland.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. J.R. Hadnagy OFM Conv. officiating.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland.
