A Tiffin man died after he was found unconscious and bleeding in his East Perry Street residence Monday morning.
Lt. Mark Marquis of the Tiffin Police Department said police received a 911 call at 7:06 a.m. advising a man, Dominic Hays, 21, was unconscious and bleeding inside 515 E. Perry St.
Hays was transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital and later transported by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Detective Chuck Boyer of the Tiffin Police Department said Hays had sustained head injuries and was in critical condition Monday morning. He was pronounced dead Monday evening, Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens said.
Boyer said Hays's parents had found him and called 911.
They were not home at the time of the incident, he said.
Marquis said police are currently investigating the matter to rule out foul play. He said the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification were called to the residence to assist.
They remained at the residence Monday night, Boyer said.
