Bickfords have big games for Lakota
OLD FORT - Alaina Bickford had three hits and four RBIs, Aubrey Bickford had three hits and three RBIs, and Lakota scored all of its runs in the first three innings as it knocked off Old Fort, 11-6.
The Raiders scored two in the first, added six in the second and then three more in the third as they banged out 18 hits.
Stephanie Miller had a triple, double and scored two runs.
Old Fort (3-9, 2-5 Midland Athletic League) got two hits and two runs from Michaela Davidson, while Krista Ward and Michaela Davidson each had two hits and an RBI.
Morgan Gangwer picked up the win for the Raiders, allowing five earned runs but striking out seven in a complete-game win. Alyssa Pence took the loss for the Stockaders.
Calvert's Bickley blanks SW
FOSTORIA - Nicole Bickley twirled a shutout for Calvert on Thursday, blanking St. Wendelin 8-0.
The hurler struck out three and yield only two hits: singles for Meghan Reiter and Edy Mowery. It was Reiter who took the loss for St. Wendelin, striking out five over four innings.
Calvert tallied nine hits. Gabby Bennett and Kate Brickner each doubled, scored twice and drove in two. Lindsay Bickley had two hits, driving in one and Taylor Ritzler scored twice. Kaleigh Hendrix and Miranda Shorts each singled and scored. Nicole Bickley helped her cause with a single and an RBI.
