Jackson E. Turner, 88, of Monona, Iowa and recently of rural Clyde, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont.
Mr. Turner was born March 19, 1925, in Elkader, Iowa, to John and Edna (Kurth) Turner. He served in the Army Air Corps as a pilot in the Phillipines during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Rose Clark Oct. 19, 1944, and she survives along with their two children, Susan Schulz of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Mark (Deanna) Turner of Clyde; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Turner also was preceded in death by his infant sister, Jacqueline, and his brother, Robert.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Grau Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, at Living Faith Parish, Monona. Burial will be at Elkader East Side Cemetery, Elkader, Iowa, with military honors.
