James Edward Hoy, 68, of Upper Sandusky, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
He was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Kenton, to William R. Sr. and Bemia L. (Merriman) Hoy. He married Janice Bianchi, Tiffin, and they were divorced. He married Rhea (Messmer) Burks Hoy Feb. 14, 1987, and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
Also surviving are four sons, Timothy (Jessica Porter) Hoy of Tiffin, Charles (Linda) Hoy of Upper Sandusky, Robert Hoy of Marion and Michael (Tammy) Hoy of Marseilles; two stepsons, William (Brenda) Burks of Colorado and Randall (Julie) Burks of Upper Sandusky; two stepdaughters, Ronita (Dwaine) Taylor and Diana Morton, both of Galion; 12 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Karg of Carey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Robert, Howard, William Jr., Virgil and Richard; and two sisters, Marie Hammond and Betty Hoy.
His funeral will be 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Gary Stumbo and Dee Whaley officiating.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A private committal service will be at a later date.
