A total of 1,828.6 pounds of medication was collected Saturday during the Prescription Drug Take Back Event in the METRICH Drug Task Force region, according to a release from METRICH.
Locally, 97 pounds were collected at the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, eight pounds were collected at Sycamore Police Department and Carey Police Department and five pounds were taken in by the Upper Sandusky Police Department. The Bellevue Police Department collected 73 pounds.
Lt. Ken Coontz of METRICH said in the press release it the greatest amount of medication taken in during the last three years. The next take back event is in September.
