Tiffin was recognized as a Tree City USA in the northwest Ohio awards ceremony co-hosted by the city of Waterville, the village of Whitehouse and their tree commissions.
This is the 32nd time Tiffin has been honored with this nationally recognized award.
"We're proud to be Tree City USA for the 32nd time," City Administrator Deb Reamer said.
The award is given to communities for ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the quality of life through a comprehensive street tree management program. The program is guided by the tree commission and the municipal government.
To achieve the honor, a community must have a tree ordinance, an active tree commission or forestry department, a comprehensive urban forestry program supported by a minimum of $2 per capita and an annual Arbor Day proclamation and activity.
