The Tiffin City Board of Education awarded the track maintenance contract bid to All American Tracks Corp. during the regular meeting Tuesday.
The board authorized the contractor to proceed with the work in accordance with the contract documents dated March 12 prepared by MKC Associates, Inc.
The board also recognized several students and coaches.
Josh Briggs was recognized with the 2013 Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibit Award.
Wrestling coaches Chad Long, Shaun Conley, Dennie Uhl and Brian Williams were recognized for winter athletics along with wrestlers Seth Williams, Derik Kopp, Roman Williams and Mason Correll.
Swim coaches Donna Hudacek and Susan Hering-Howard also were recognized along with swimmers Chris Gates and Natalie Howard.
Assistant baseball coach Tony Vasko was honored as the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Northwest District coach of the year for 2011-12.
Noble 4-5 Elementary School was awarded the 2011-12 School of Promise and guidance counselor Suzanne Reinhart was presented with a $500 donation from the Lions Club for the Bucket Fillers program.
The board heard an update from Gifted Education Coordinator Paula Zirm about the gifted programs in the elementary schools in grades 3-5.
The total amount raised in scholarship funds this year for the pay-to-participate program is $10,865. Students were provided $3,300 in scholarships, leaving a balance of $7,565.

Approved revised board policies and regulations.
Approved high school textbook recommendations.
Approved the 2013 Tiffin Columbian High School summer school schedule.
Approved the 2013-14 American History and Government end-of-course exams.
Approved Chinese IV course of study as presented at the March 26 board meeting.
Approved Introduction to Forensic Science as a dual enrollment course.
Approved the K-3 math program Go Math.
Approved a service agreement with PT Services for speech services for kindergarten screening.
Approved a service contract with MT Business Technologies Inc. for printer services.
The board entered into executive session to discuss the employment and compensation of public employees and to prepare for negotiations with public employees. No action was taken after the session.
The next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. May 28 in the Tiffin Middle School cafetorium.
