Over the next two week, Tiffin Art Guild is to be occupied with a fundraiser, a special exhibit at St. Mary Church and an exhibition open house at its downtown gallery.
TAG's fundraiser art auction is at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Tiffin Mad River Railroad Depot on North Monroe Street. The auction is to feature free refreshments donated by TAG members and volunteers and a 50/50 drawing.
The theme is "Outside the Box." Local artists have been creating original boxes and containers that are to be up for bids. Several are on display in the front window at the gallery, and all are to be shown in a special tab in Thursday's A-T.

An Emily Dickinson poem inspired this painting of “The Moon is Distant From the Sea.” It and other art are to be exhibited Sunday at St. Mary Church.
All proceeds are to help offset operating costs at the gallery.
Sunday, the Heidelberg University Concert Choir's home concert is to have a special feature. TAG members have created pieces to correspond with the choir's theme, "Night at the Museum." The pieces will be on display at St. Mary Church before, during and after the performance.
Exhibit chairwoman Jill Groves said more than two dozen local artists have created 25 pieces (paintings and fused glass) that give their interpretations of the song lyrics and titles on the program.
"Ninety percent of the of the art was created just for this event," Groves said. "I am developing a Power Point slide show of all the works of art to be shown during the concert that will tie in the art to the songs as they are sung."
The doors at St. Mary are to open at 6:30 p.m., with the concert starting at 7.
"Three Artisans" are teaming to present a month-long exhibition of fused glass artwork at the TAG gallery. Elaine Base, Jill Groves and Fran Jackson are to be present 4-6 p.m. May 4 for the opening reception and open house. They will be answering questions and meeting with the public.
The exhibition is to continue through May 31. For more information, call (419) 902-7966.
It's not too early to put TAG's Art Fair on the calendar for Aug. 10 on Courthouse Square in downtown Tiffin. This is about a month earlier than in the past.
The event is open to artists who make fine arts, fine crafts and other unique items.
The art fair is to include a variety of food vendors and local organizations selling food as fundraisers. The KidZone Tent is to return with activities for children. Live music and a drawing contest have been added this year.
