Manhunt was swift, successful
An amazing piece of detective work occurred this week following the bombing Monday at the finish of the Boston Marathon. It involved the efforts of local police, federal officers and civilians, sometimes using shreds of evidence from the scene. Within days, the FBI released photos of the alleged suspects; within hours, one was dead and the other was being hunted.
We tip our hat to those who contributed to the success of this manhunt, and then cover our hearts in memory of the victims.
Cash mobs aim to boost area economy
A tip of the cap to all those who organized and participated in the cash mob Wednesday at Tiffin Ace Hardware. Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Services plans to stage a series of these events to draw attention to area businesses and encourage people to shop locally. While the one-day boost in sales helps, the success of the effort really depends on reinforcing or changing the behavior of shoppers. The community they support is their own.
