Orientation for Sentinel Career and Technology Center's ABLE/GED program is at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in room 244 of the Family Learning Center.
Class times are 9-11 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. 12:30-2:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The program offers a variety of services designed to meet the needs of individuals interested in improving academic and workplace skills. Due to funding through a grant, ABLE classes are offered free to participants 18 and older.
For anyone wanting to obtain a GED, the classes prepare students for components of the GED test and provide test-taking tips.
To enroll in classes, students are required to attend an orientation where registration forms and placement testing are completed.
For individuals who need alternative scheduling or those who want additional study time at home, a distance education program is available that offers online lessons.
GED testing is available the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Before testing, online applications are required along with a $40 fee. The next GED test is May 7-8.
