BUCYRUS - Seneca East got two quality pitching efforts and a hitting attack that got stronger as the day grew longer Saturday in a 3-0, 10-0 sweep of Wynford.
Jordan Bowerman (3-1) scattered three hits and a walk while fanning five to help the Tigers take the opener. Ethan Caudill (2-0) struck out seven and allowed just two hits and a walk in the second game.
Meanwhile, Daniel Bartley and Ben Cramer both doubled and drove in a run in the first game for Seneca East. Bowerman, Dylan Bordner and Caudill all singled and scored.
In the night cap, Gus Baldosser scored twice and drove in two runs with a double and single for the Tigers (8-1).
Bowerman scored three times and doubled, Bartley scored and knocked in a pair with a double and single and Caudill doubled. Mason McWilliams chipped in a single and two RBIs and Dalton Wise had two runs and an RBI against the Royals (7-3).
Arlington, H-L split lopsided games
BASCOM - Arlington walloped Hopewell-Loudon 13-3 in the opener and the Chieftains returned the favor 11-0 in the second game Saturday.
The Red Devils blew the first game open with an eight-run burst in the top of the sixth for an 11-0 lead.
Seth Ramirez singled and drove in three runs for Arlington, Tyler Richard scored twice and singled twice, Brittan Reichley knocked in two runs with two singles, Jake McWilliams had a single and two RBIs, and John Solt and winning pitcher Mason Werst each scored twice and singled.
Jarid Gelinas (0-2) took the loss.
Tyler Imes hit a solo homer, singled and added another run for H-L. Garret Sendelbach singled twice.
The Chieftains (3-6) built a 4-0 lead by the end of the third inning before plating seven runs in the fourth.
Imes scored three runs and chased in two more with a double and single to help Nick Scaife (1-2) get the win.
Logan Tyree knocked in three runs with two singles for H-L, Sendelbach had two RBIs off two singles and Jordan Stewart and Ryan Depinet both scored twice and hit two singles.
Solt lined two singles for the Red Devils (4-2).
